To get to this amazing place from Amsterdam city center is possible with the following transportation: bus, train, car, bike, and taxi.
To get to Zaanse Schans by bus, you will need to look for the number 391. Transport leaves the Amsterdam central station every hour. Your destination will be Zaanse Schans Station. The trip will take more or less around 40 minutes. The price for a single ticket is €6.50 – you get a better deal if you purchase the day pass ticket for €11.50 that is valid all day in the Zaan region and includes buses to and from Amsterdam. Purchase tickets from the bus driver but be aware that from 2020 it is no longer possible to pay by cash on any GVB bus, payments can be done only by any debit or credit card.

If you choose the train option, your final destination will be Koog-Zaandijk station. The train is departing from Amsterdam Central and your journey will take 17 minutes once you get to the train. Then you need to walk 1.5 km which is around 15 minutes. The price per person is 3.40 euro for one way. The frequency of the trains is every 17 minutes.

For those who plan to come to Zaanse Schans village by car should know that parking services are 12 euros for the whole day. The navigation address is Schansend 7, 1509 AW, Zaandam.
Another way to get to windmill village is a bike. Start your journey from Amsterdam Central and take all the bike roads that will lead to your destination Zaanse Schans. Travel time is approximately 1hour and 10 minutes. It is 17,8 km from the city center using bike roads. There is no parking fee for bikes you can lock the bike just next to the entrance for free.
Taxi is the most convenient way to reach the area Zaanse Schans Museum. It will take around 25 minutes to reach your destination. It is recommended to book your Amsterdam taxi in advance in order to save your time and to get a fixed price for your ride. You can also book a return taxi to ensure your return safe and without any adventures.
Another great place you can visit while your stay in Amsterdam is Keukenhof Park. Every Dutch tour necessarily includes a visit to the famous park of tulips. It is located on an area of thirty-two hectares in an incredibly beautiful region of tulips called Lise just between The Hague and the city of Amsterdam. Although, the park opens each spring from March until May on a specific date. There are two ways to get to the park: by train or a taxi.
The train is another good option for a budget trip in order to get from Amsterdam to Keukenhof Park. Therefore, you will need to get to Leiden Centraal Station from Amsterdam Central Station. To explain, at first take Sprinter 4634 in the direction of Den Haag Centraal, get off at Sassenheim station, and second, you will have to take the 50 Haarlem bus – the stop is located on the station square. Get off at the station Lisse, Vreewijk, and after you have to walk about 20 minutes to the park which is situated around 2 km away from Lisse station. Our advice is to buy a round-trip ticket in advance. The price of a round-trip on the train is about 18 euros.
The price for entrance to Keukenhof at the ticket office will be 17 euros for adults and 9 euros for children from 4 -11 years old. For kids under four years old the entrance is free.
