First things first. You can travel from the Eindhoven airport to Amsterdam by train. However, there is no train that directly connects the airport with the city of Amsterdam. There is a train though that connects the city of Eindhoven with the city of Amsterdam. So, let’s travel by train!

You exit the airport doors and you head to Platform A of the Eindhoven Station. It’ll take you around 3 minutes and 200 meters. Look for Bus No.400. There is one leaving every 15 minutes. This bus will take you to Eindhoven’s train station. The trip is around 25 minutes and costs €2,74-€3,11.  From there you can travel to Amsterdam’s train station.

You will exit the bus at the third stop, and walk for another minute to Eindhoven Centraal station. There you will board the Intercity 828 Alkmaar train at Platform 4. The trip is around 1h and 20 minutes and costs €22.70. There is one train every 10 minutes.

When you reach the Amsterdam Centraal, you are in the Amsterdam city center!

Getting a Bus from Eindhoven Airport to Amsterdam

Are you a bus type of traveler? Well, you can indeed travel from the airport of Eindhoven to Amsterdam by bus.

Option 1 (Every day except Tuesday and Wednesday)

There is a direct connection with a private provider (the known Flix) from the Eindhoven airport to Amsterdam Central (De Ruijterkade) every day except Tuesday and Wednesday.

Option 2 (Tuesday and Wednesday)

So, exit the airport doors and head to the Eindhoven Station Platform A. It will take you 3 minutes to walk 200 meters. Board the bus No. 400 and alight from the bus after 25 minutes at the third stop. This will cost you €2,74-€3,11.

Walk for about 4 minutes towards the Eindhoven Station (John F. Kennedy). There are various private providers such as the green one Flix 833 Amsterdam Sloterdijk. This will travel to Amsterdam Sloterdijk in 1hr and 50 minutes at €6.

From there you take the Sprinter 5430 Amsterdam Centraal from Platform 8 and in 5 minutes you are in Amsterdam’s city center. It will cost €2,60.
