Is there a Train from Ghent to Brussels Airport?
Great news! There is a direct train line that services these two destinations, meaning you won’t have to make any bothersome connections. To begin your journey, head to the airport’s train station, which is easily located thanks to the many signposts. It can be found after you have gone through passport control and baggage collection.
When you arrive, check the departures board, looking for the soonest train to depart towards Ghent. It will usually be the IC train towards Knokke-Heist, which departs the station every 30-40 minutes. Once you have seen what platform the train departs from, purchase your tickets from one of the automated kiosks in the main terminal, or book them online via the official SNCB app. The cost of a single ticket is €17.80, which already includes the mandatory airport supplement of €6.80.
Make your way to the platform and jump on board the train when it arrives. It is considered a common courtesy to allow the passengers already on the train to disembark first, before shoving your way on board.
Sit down, and enjoy the ride. The train conductor will announce when you are close to the station in Ghent, by saying “Next stop, Ghent Sint-Pieters”, there accents are often quite thick so be sure to listen carefully.
