Yes! You will be delighted to hear that there is a direct train going between Brussels and Leuven. The journey, which takes only 20 minutes, is easy and efficient, and also only costs €10.40 for a single ticket.

After landing at the airport, pass through passport control and collect your bags, and head to the elevators, taking the one that goes to the floor with the rail line on. Once in the train station, check the departure board for the next IC train that is going to Leuven. Purchase a ticket, either via one of the automated kiosks, or even online with the SNCB app.

Jump on board, enjoy the ride, and you’ll be sippin’ Stella Artois in no time!

Travel Tip: If you are going from Leuven to Brussels airport, you will need to pay an additional supplement of €6.40 on top of your standard ticket price, in order to enter the airport.

Getting a Bus from Leuven to Brussels Airport

Similarly to the train, there is also a direct bus route that services these two destinations. The 651 bus departs from the airport every 30 minutes, with a total ticket cost of only €7.00, making it the most affordable option.

To locate the bus station, you will need to follow the same instructions as above, yet this time head to the lowest underground level that the elevator allows. Once there, head outside and you will easily be able to see where all the buses stop. Locate the correct bus, purchase a ticket from the automated kiosk, and be on your way. The journey will take around 1 hour.

By car, there is a total distance of 25.5 kilometres between the two locations. The total transit time will be 25 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

Cheapest Transfer from Brussels Airport to Leuven
