Is There a Train from Montreal Airport to Quebec City?
There isn’t a direct train line connecting the airport to the city, yet, with the addition of a quick bus ride, you can get from Montreal to Quebec in just over 4 hours. The total cost of this journey will be $167, for both the train and bus ride, making it slightly more expensive, although with the distance travelled, this is only natural.
To begin your trip, head to the bus station in the airport, which can be found by following the many signposts in the terminal. Once there, locate the correct bus, namely the 747 or 460, which will get you to Gare Centrale in Montreal. Tickets can be bought from the automated kiosks for just a few dollars.
You will need to alight the bus at the Rene-Levesque / Mansfield bus stop, which is in close walking distance to the central station. Once there, check the departure board to see when the next VIA train is departing toward Quebec.
Again, you will need to either purchase your tickets at one of the automated kiosks, or buy them online in advance. As this route is relatively popular, it is recommended to book your tickets in advance, as failure to do can lead to not being able to find an available seat on the train.
The last step of your journey is to just sit back and enjoy the 3 hour and 15 minute trip through the Canadian landscape. There will be only 5 stops along the way.
When you reach Quebec city, at Gare du Palais, you can choose to take a bus or walk to your final destination within the city.
