Venice Water Taxi – AtoB New Service

Venice Water Taxi

Venice is the capital of the Veneto region and is in northeastern Italy. It is built on a group of 118 small islands connected by over 400 bridges and separated by canals.

In Venice, public transportation is relatively expensive. This, of course, includes the city’s water taxis. A relaxing boat ride through Venice’s canals is only worthwhile for large groups visiting the city (taxis can carry up to ten people). The Italian word for a water taxi is “Motoscafi“, but the English term “water taxi” is also widely understood throughout Italy.

In Venice, water taxis are a popular mode of transportation. These are smaller ships that can be rented in the same way that a taxi with a driver can. You have the option of ordering taxis or looking for a taxi boat on your own. Water taxis in Venice operate 24 hours a day, every day of the year, just like taxis on land in big cities. Taxi boats are another option. Many visitors confuse water taxis with water buses. Both are ships, but there is a significant difference between them. Individual water taxis, like taxis in other cities, can be rented and taken wherever you want.

A surcharge of 5 euros per piece of luggage can be charged even if the total number of suitcases exceeds four. In general, the water taxi, like the water bus, allows one large piece of luggage per person. This is especially true if the ship is carrying ten passengers. Note that, a little more luggage isn’t usually a problem if there are only two or three people in the water taxi.

In Venice, all public water taxis are licensed and audited on a regular basis. There are fire extinguishers, life jackets, and other safety equipment on board, as far as we know.

AtoB airport transfer has a new service that besides your airport transfer from the airport to Venice you can book your water taxi as well. After you book your airport ride you can add as a service, the water taxi. The driver will stop at Piazzale Roma, as road vehicles cannot go further into Venice. From there, you will have to take a water taxi, the ferry or walk to your hotel in the city.
