There is indeed a train which can efficiently get you from the airport all the way to the city. A train journey will usually take just a little over 20 minutes, and costs relatively little at only NOK 118, which is the equivalent of around 10 euros.
To catch the train, head to the train station in the airport, checking the departure board for the next trip towards Oslo. Most of the trains depart.

Why would one wish to take the bus, when such an efficient train ride is available? We’re not sure, yet will still provide you with a guide on taking the bus. The price is exactly the same as that for the train, namely 118 NOK, or 10 euros. The only direct bus from the airport to the city is the number 400 bus, which should get you to the city in 1 hour and 20 minutes, give or take.
To catch that bus, head to platform 50 of the airport station and board the bus. Prepare for the ride, which will have 55 stops along the way, although you won’t need to change buses at any point.

The distance between the two locations, by road, is around 50 kilometres. The duration of a trip, depending on the mode of transport you choose, ranges between 45 minutes to over an hour.
As mentioned previously, in addition to railways, there are a few private transportation options, such as vehicle rental or private transfer. Car rental, while it may appear to be an appealing way to travel owing to the freedom of driving your own vehicle on your own schedule, has a few drawbacks.
The most noticeable is the insurance waiver, which must be paid in advance before obtaining the automobile. Although this appears to be rational, depending on the supplier, it might be rather pricey. What sounds better, being out of pocket before your trip even begins, or saving a few dollars and being able to enjoy a few more snifters of Aquavit ?
As is nearly always the case, taking public transit is the less expensive alternative. You may get a pretty speedy ride from the airport to the city for the equivalent of 10 euros. It is vital to evaluate the pricing per person, since calculating this will likely reveal that scheduling a private service is both more reasonable and more pleasant.
For example, if you are travelling with a big group of friends or relatives, say six people, paying for each of them will cost you 60 euros for a single train ride.
