Peru’s calendar is full of events worth checking out. In June, Cusco hosts the Inti Raymi Festival, a big celebration of Inca traditions – perfect for history buffs. Love music? Head to Ica in March for the Festival Internacional de la Vendimia. It’s all about music, dance, and good wine. If you’re into running, the Inca Trail Marathon in August is a challenging race with stunning views. And food enthusiasts shouldn’t miss Mistura in Lima every September. What to Eat in Peru
Peruvian cuisine is diverse and flavorful. It’s known for dishes like ceviche, fresh fish marinated in lime juice and spices – a must-try for seafood lovers. If you like meat, try lomo saltado, a stir-fry mixing beef, vegetables, and fries, often served with rice. Another popular dish is aji de gallina, a creamy chicken stew with a spicy kick from aji peppers. For something unique, there’s cuy, or guinea pig, a traditional Andean meal. Don’t forget to try a pisco sour, Peru’s famous cocktail, made with pisco, lime juice, and egg white.
