Is there a Charleroi Airport to Brussels Train?
Taking a direct train from the airport to Brussels is not currently possible. In order to make the trip by train, one would have to first travel to the central station in Charleroi, from where a train ride is possible, yet this option is only offered during the day, meaning travellers who arrive at night would not be able to follow the same route. In addition, getting from the airport to the centre is also challenging, thus relying on one of the more convenient options is recommended.
To briefly detail the trip, in the off-chance you are really hellbent on taking the train, is as follows:
From the CRL airport, walk to the JUMET Monument bus stop and catch the number 11 or 28 bus to the JUMET Madeleine stop. Once there, switch onto the M3 tram line and take it to the central station. Once at the central station, check the departure board for the soonest train departing to Brussels, although being cautious not to take one of the longer routes, as these can take more than 3 hours to reach Brussels. When you find the correct train, purchase a ticket from one of the kiosks, or via the SNCB app, and head to the platform.
Board the train, which will take you all the way to the Gare du Midi stop in Brussels. Depending on the train you take, you may also be able to stay on it longer and disembark at either Brussel central, or Brussel North stations.
Travel Tip: Take the bus, or a private transfer.
