Is There a Train from Calgary Airport to Banff?
As Banff is a mountainous resort town, there isn’t a train connecting it with Calgary. Although there have been occasions of mountain trains, there has yet to be one to get you to this ski resort. Due to this, we recommend taking one of the other transportation options available on our list, such as the bus, if you prefer public transport, or a private airport transfer, if you value comfort and privacy.
Getting a Bus from Calgary Airport to Banff
Catch a bus is mostly straightforward, with an almost direct route available between the city and Banff. For around $20 to $30, you can get to your lodging in Banff, in just over 3 hours.
To begin your trip, exit the airport and head to its bus stop. You will need to catch the 300 bus to the city centre. Tickets can be purchased from one of the automated kiosks located at the station, which accept credit cards and cash payments. After getting a ticket, get on the bus and enjoy the 40 minute trip to the city; there are 18 intermediate stops along the way.
Once you reach the Inter-City Express stop, which is just a quick walk eastwards from the bus stop. When you reach it, you will need to once more purchase your tickets and board the bus. This trip will be the longest of the journey, at 1 hour and 55 minutes.

When travelling by car, there is a total distance of 127 kilometres between the two locations, leading to an estimated transit time of 1 hour and 30 minutes, although this can be affected by traffic, or other road conditions, such as moose crossing the road.
