Is There a Train from Vancouver Airport to Downtown?

There isn’t a train, in the conventional sense; yet, there is an underground metro route, which one can use to efficiently get between the airport and city center. The metro line to take is the Canada Line ‘Waterfront”, which departs at convenient intervals throughout the day. The cost of a single ticket is $3.15 and can be paid by cash and contactless methods from one of the kiosks at the station.

From the airport arrivals terminal, make your way to the metro station, which is easily located, thanks to the many signposts. Purchase your ticket prior to boarding the metro, then proceed to get on. This particular metro usually departs from Platform 1, although be sure to double-check.

Now, enjoy the ride all the way to the city centre, disembarking at the station of the same name. This is within walking distance of the Vancouver Art Gallery, as well as a Tim Horton’s.

Getting a Bus from Vancouver Airport to Downtown

Similarly to the metro, there is also a convenient bus route that services these two destinations, yet this is only available during the night. It is also a direct route, meaning you won’t have to worry about changing between buses. The price of a ticket is the same as above, at $3.15, yet the transit time will increase by 6 minutes.

From the airport, head to level 3, where the domestic departures are, and the bus stop. Find the correct bus, namely the N10 nightbus toward downtown, which runs every 30 minutes throughout the night.

This bus will leave you directly outside the Vancouver Art Gallery, in the center of the city.
