Is there Public Transport from Split Airport to Brač?
If you prefer to travel by public transport, you can take the bus number 37 from Split Airport to the city centre. The bus stop is located on the main road in front of the airport, about 150 metres from the terminal. The bus runs every 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the day and time, and the ticket costs 2.5 euros. You can buy the ticket from the driver or at the kiosk. The journey takes about 50 minutes, and you will need to get off at the Sukoisan bus station, on the outskirts of the city centre. From there, you can take another bus to the ferry port, which is about 1.5 kilometres away. You can either walk or take the bus number 9, 10, or 15, which depart from the same station. The bus ticket costs 11 kuna (about 1.5 euros), and you can buy it at the kiosk or on the bus. The bus ride takes about 10 minutes, and you will need to get off at the stop near the St. Peter’s pier, where the ferries to Brač depart. Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the airport to the ferry port, which will cost you about 28 euros.
Once you reach the ferry port, you have several options to get to Brač by ferry or catamaran. The most frequent and convenient option is to take the ferry to Supetar, the main town on the island. The ferry is operated by Jadrolinija, and it runs every two hours from 5:15 am to 11:59 pm. The ferry ticket costs 33 kuna (about 4.5 euros) for a one-way trip, and you can buy it online or at the ticket office. The ferry takes 50 minutes to reach Supetar, and it departs from the St. Duje’s pier, which is marked with the number 6 on the map. You can also take a catamaran to Milna, a small town on the western coast of Brač. The catamaran is operated by four different companies: Krilo, Kapetan Luka, Jadrolinija, and TP Line. The catamaran runs one or two times per day, depending on the season, and the ticket costs between 20 and 40 kuna (about 3 to 5 euros). The catamaran takes 30 minutes to reach Milna, and it departs from berth number 6 or 11, which are marked with the blue numbers on the map. You can check the schedules and prices of the catamarans online.
As you can see, travelling by public transport from Split Airport to Brač requires some planning and patience, as you will need to change buses and ferries, and deal with possible delays or crowds. If you want to avoid these hassles and enjoy a more comfortable and faster journey, you can always book a private transfer with AtoB, which will take you from the airport to the ferry port in no time.
