Having travelled this special route several times, I can firmly say that Coral Bay is one of the easiest destinations to reach from Paphos Airport (PFO) – if you book a private transfer in advance. Cannot say the same about taxis or public buses, though.

The best part? You’ll find several transport options, from public buses to private transfers, to suit both your budget and schedule.

What Is the Best Way to Travel from PFO to Coral Bay?

It depends on your budget, travel style, and how much spare time you have.

After spending more time than I care to count exploring this corner of Cyprus, I can tell you this – there’s no one-size-fits-all option. Some of you may be happy to hop on a local bus and enjoy the landscape, while others would rather book an airport transfer and call it a day.

That’s why there’s no such thing as “best”. But trust me, there’s a transportation option out there that works best for you.

Good to know: Coral Bay is one of Cyprus’ most accessible beach resorts on the west coast. All those fancy hotels, restaurants, and shops go without saying. Crystal-clear water, golden sand, and a chill vibe, too. For one, it’s a fave among couples, families, and beach lovers alike.

Travel Tip: If you’re planning a longer stay, make time to explore nearby highlights, like the Akamas Peninsula, Polis, and the super-famous Adonis Baths.

How Far Is Coral Bay from Paphos Airport?

Way closer than you think. There’s a tiny distance of 19 km between the two, in a beeline. By road, it’s roughly 30 km, which is also not too large of a distance.

Is There a Train from Paphos Airport to Coral Bay?

No, Cyprus doesn’t have an operational railway network. So, you won’t be able to travel between the two by train.

I bet it came as a surprise to you, especially if you’re visiting Cyprus for the first time. So yes, your options are limited to road transport. But rest assured, the roads here are modern and well-maintained.

What Are the Main Transportation Options from PFO to Coral Bay?

Not as many as on the Old Continent, but enough to pick from. Let’s take a look:

  • Bus (the only public transport option);
  • Taxi (fares can get rocket-high);
  • Renting a car (but again, prices are huge, and it’s not the safest option);
  • Booking an AtoB transfer.

How Do You Get from Paphos to Coral Bay by Bus?

Pretty easily, if we’re being short. It’s basically 2 buses if you’ve just arrived at the airport, and 1 if you’re already in the city centre.

Is There a Direct Bus?

No, there’s no direct PFO to Coral Bay bus. You’ll just need one tiny transfer in Paphos city, unless you’re already there.

Which Buses Should You Catch?

First, you need to catch bus 612, right from the PFO. It will take you to the Harbour bus station (aka Kato Paphos Station). From there, you’ll catch the 615 bus to Coral Bay.

How Much Time Does It Take?

On average, the whole journey takes about 1h 35 mins, with a layover time of, say, 18 mins.

Just so you know, the route 615 is really frequent, so you won’t have to wait much. Give it a max of 15 mins, and you’ll see the bus coming if you arrive at the Paphos Harbour station, and there’s no bus just yet.

What Is the Cost of the Tickets?

You’ll have to spend around €3 in total if you’re travelling during the day. €1.50 goes for a one-way ticket from PFO to the city centre (at night, the ticket will cost you €2.50). The same prices apply to line 615.

Travel Tip: If you plan several journeys per day, you’d better purchase a day pass for €5. But if you have long weekends, you might as well think about the weekly pass of €10.

Good to know: Children under 12 travel for free with the bus 612. The same youngsters under 12 can get a 50% discount on bus 615 (only children under 6 travel for free on this route).

How Do the Buses Run Daily?

The bus 612 has a pretty busy schedule, from early in the morning at 07:30 to late at night. The last bus departs at 01:00. You can check the full schedule on the Pafos Buses website.

At the same time, line 615 departs from the station every 10 to 15 mins (like I said before), from 06:25 in the morning to 11:50 at night.

Where Can You Buy the Bus Tickets?

Right from the bus driver, with cash. No need to book in advance. Btw, the day passes are available at the main bus stations.

Travel Tip: Always carry some cash.

Where Do You Arrive in Coral Bay?

The final stop is the Coral Bay Beach area – basically, the main tourist strip. You’ll be close to hotels, restaurants, and Coral Bay Beach itself.

Just so you know, there’s almost always a walking distance to most accommodations. But you can always catch a cab. At least, it won’t cost as much as if you took it all the way from the airport.

Travel Tip: If you have a tight schedule or arrive at the airport anytime after 23:55, you’d better look for alternative transportation options, such as AtoB airport transfers.
