Is There a Train from Dublin to Cliffs of Moher?

Taking the train may not be the most convenient, as a total of 3 different trains need to be taken, for a total transit time of almost 6 hours. Nevertheless, if you’re a train fanatic, who just loves riding the rails, then we will let you know how to complete this journey.

From Dublin’s Heuston train station, catch the train to Galway, which will take around 2 hours to complete. Tickets can be purchased either online, or via one of the automated kiosks at the station. Prior to reaching Galway, one will have to disembeark in Athenry, and catch the next train, namely the one to Limerick.

Once on boad that train, enjoy the 50 minute ride to Ennis, which is your penultimate stop. When in Ennis, board the final leg of your trip, this time a bus. The bus to catch is the 350 to Galway, although you will disembark at the Cliffs of Moher.

That’s all folks! Your total ticket price is estimate to be around 20 to 30 euros, depending on how early you book them, and whether you can get the Semi-Flexible tickets.

The bus is also mostly convenient, and in fact only will require 2 changes. It comes in slightly cheaper than the train option above, and will take around the same time, roughly 5 hours and 45 minutes.

To begin your trip, board the 300 bus, which will take you most of the way. At Friars Walk, disembark and walk to the Ennis Bus Station, where you need to catch the 350 to Galway.
