Can you Take a Bergamo Airport to Milan Train?

It is entirely possible to take a train from Bergamo and get to the central station in Milan. You will first need to catch a quick shuttle ride from the airport to the train station in Bergamo though. There are a few buses that can get you there, but the most efficient will be the Orioshuttle, as this departs on regular intervals.

The Orioshuttle stop is just outside of arrivals, thus easy to catch. The line to take is the number 3, and disembark at the Via San Giovanni station. One of the other bus lines could take you directly to Milan, but for the sake of this article, we will just stick to trains for now. The cost of your ticket here will be €6.00 and you can buy it either online or from the driver.

After reaching the train station, which is just a short walk away from the bus stop, you will need to catch one of the regional trains heading towards Milano Centrale. As there are numerous trains which service this route, we are unable to provide you with an exact train number, you should refer to the departures board at the station to find out which one is the right one, and from there proceed to the appropriate platform. Tickets will cost €5.80 for second class and €8.70 for first-class. Seats are slightly comfier in first-class and it will definitely be less crowded.

The trip should get you to the central station in around 50 minutes. Enjoy!

Travel Tip: Book your train tickets online on the official Trenord website.

Getting a Bus from Bergamo Airport to Milan

As stated above, the Orioshuttle offers a direct bus route to Milan. There are zero stops along the way, making it much more direct than the train option mentioned above. Straight from the airport to the city in 50 minutes.
The ticket will cost €12.00 for adults and half price for children aged 2 to 11. You can buy the tickets from their website.
The bus will leave you at Piazza Luigi di Savoia, from where you can jump on the Metro and get anywhere in the city you would like.
There are other popular bus services that provide the same route, although we shall not go into detail on them.

Travel Tip: Buses can get a little overcrowded, so be prepared to be packed in like a sardine (especially during the summer months!).

Various Transfers from Bergamo Airport to Milan

So, as we have seen thus far, in terms of public transport, you have the two above mentioned methods. Now, when it comes to private transportation, there are a few options you could consider. Local taxi companies are available, but it’s important to note that they can be quite expensive, especially during peak hours or if there is traffic.

Another option is renting a car, which provides more flexibility, but comes with its own set of considerations. Insurance waivers can add up and navigating unfamiliar roads in a foreign country can be daunting, not to mention the risk of accidents. It’s important to weigh the costs and benefits of these options carefully before making a decision. Prior to moving onto AtoB’s private airport transfers, we will first cover the cheapest transfer option you have available.

Cheapest Transfer from Bergamo Airport to Milan City Centre

As is only obvious, the cheapest option will be public transport, as this will cost you just a few euros to book. Sometimes, though, taking the bus (or train for that matter) is not very efficient. This is especially true for families, larger groups, or those travelling with elderly parents. In these cases, booking a private transfer not only guarantees peace of mind, but also ensures that everyone is comfortable for the entirety of the trip.

AtoB offers affordable rides, as well as luxury rides. You can choose the one that best suits your travel needs. Are prices are fixed, and all-inclusive, meaning after payment you will not be charged a single cent more.
