Best Way to Get from La Pelosa to Alghero Airport

How do you like to travel? That is perhaps the most important thing to think of prior to organising your transportation needs. Based upon this, as well as whether you are travelling with others (such as children or the elderly), and how much time you have to spare, you can be sure to make the best possible selection for yourself.

When visiting La Pelosa, in northern Sardinia, you have available to you a few options for transport. As the town is relatively isolated, located at the very peak of a peninsula, you can choose to get there by taking a couple of bus rides, renting a car, hailing a random taxi, or ensuring a safe trip by booking a quality AtoB Transfer – the choice is yours!

Is there an Alghero to La Pelosa Train?

Although there may be an extensive rail network on the island of Sardinia, due to its isolated location, there is no train route to La Pelosa. One could choose to take the train to the neighbouring city of Porto Torres, and from there taking a bus, but this will likely be very inconvenient and will need the traveller to walk large distances.

Travel Tip: Take the bus, or better yet, book a transfer with AtoB!

Getting a Bus from Alghero to La Pelosa

As said, taking a bus between the two destinations is your only option when it comes to public transport. Bus rides are inexpensive, this specific journey costs only €4.30, but will take a little over 3 hours to complete. When considering that the distance is only 50 kilometres, you can already tell that this journey will be uncomfortable.

Nevertheless, if you don’t mind waiting in between bus rides, then read on!

From Alghero Airport, you can catch the Linea 760 bus towards Sassari, and alight at the Padre Zirano stop. Then, you will need to wait for 1 hour, before boarding the Linea 727 to La Pelosa. This ride will take 1 hour 17 minutes and has 34 stops in between. This line goes through Porto Torres as well, before heading to its final destination.

Various Transportation Options from La Pelosa to Alghero Airport

Your choice of transport is somewhat limited if you want to use public transport, as the bus is your only option. Fortunately, when it comes to private transport, you have a plethora of options. You could try hailing a taxi from the side of the road, but this can result in a huge fare as drivers often charge too much for a long journey. Alternatively, you can try to make the journey yourself with a rental car.

There are a number of providers in Sardinia, but you’ll have to pay an expensive deposit for insurance before you can rent the car. This can leave you out of pocket before you even start your trip. Another problem with car rental is that you have to find your way around the roads in a foreign country and the sometimes unpredictable driving behaviour of Italians can add to your stress. So there’s really only one option left. Can you guess what it’s? An AtoB transfer, of course!

Cheapest Way from Alghero to La Pelosa

As is the case for pretty much every article we write, the bus is the cheapest option. But, hold your horses – if you are a larger group, let’s say 6-8 people, then in fact booking with AtoB is your best bet, let us explain why.

If your split the cost of the transfer between all members of the group, you will actually end up paying roughly the same per person, as you would for public transport. With the added luxury of a private transfer, making this choice is really a no-brainer, right?

How much does a taxi from La Pelosa to Alghero Airport cost?

You can expect to pay anywhere from €100 and above. Fortunately, AtoB offers a fixed price, which will never increase after booking, something which can’t be said for standard taxi cabs, who work with a tariff system.
