Is there a Rome Airport to Colosseum Train?

Once you arrive at Fiumicino Airport, follow the signs to the train station located within the airport terminal. You can purchase a train ticket at the ticket counter or a self-service machine, or even buy one online. Board one of the RV or REG trains towards Rome, a non-stop service that takes you directly to the Termini Station in the heart of Rome.

The train ride takes a little over 40 minutes and offers a comfortable and scenic journey through the Italian countryside. From Termini Station, you can transfer to Line B of the Rome Metro and ride for a few stops to reach the Colosseum station. The total cost for the train ticket and metro fare is around 15 euros per person, so it definitely won’t break the bank!

Upon landing at Ciampino Airport, head to the airport terminal’s exit and follow the signs to the train station. Once more, you can either purchase a train ticket at the ticket counter, from a self-service machine, or buy them online in advance. Board the train that connects Ciampino Airport to Termini Station, which is the main transportation hub in Rome.

rom there, you can choose to catch the EuroCity train, with tickets starting at €11.90 and a trip duration of 1 hour 27 minutes, or board one of the other regional trains for €5.00 and a shorter duration of 1 hour.

A convenient bus route from the airport to the centre of Rome is provided by Terravision. From their stop at the airport, you can get to the centre of Rome, and take a nice stroll to the Colosseum (hopefully the weather is good!). The cost of a ticket is €6.00, and can be bought directly from their online portal. The duration of the trip is roughly 1 hour and 15 minutes, although this can be affected by traffic conditions.

Sadly, there isn’t a direct route from this airport to the Colosseum, although if you are hell bent on taking the bus, there are options. You’re going to need to make a number of changes, but it can be done. From the airport, catch the 520 bus, disembarking at the Cinecitta stop after 2 stops.

It is recommended to buy a Multi-Entry card, as this will allow you to jump on and off of buses quickly, without having to deal with payments as soon as you board.
