If you must be in the Old Town (Ville Haute), get off at the Hamilius bus stop; it will take you 25 minutes to get there. The Place d’Armes, Place Guillaume II, Palais Gran-Ducal, and Cathédrale Notre-Dame can all be reached on foot from this location.
You won’t need to purchase a bus, tram, or train ticket starting on March 1, 2020, when you can use Luxembourg’s public transportation for free. Bus line 29 takes 22 minutes to travel to Luxembourg City’s railway station, which is located south of the city center.
