Is there a Train from Faro Airport to Lagos?

Taking the train between the two locations is entirely possible, and a very affordable and convenient method. Although there is not a direct train from the airport, you can still get there with only one connection.

From the airport, catch the number 16 Proximo bus from the station just outside the airport. This will take you to Terminal Rodoviario, from where you need to catch your train. Check the departure board to find the correct platform and board the R train toward Lagos. The journey will take around 1 hour 45 minutes, with a total of 16 stops. Tickets for the R train cost €7,50 and can be purchased from the kiosks at the station, which accepts both cash and card payments.

Getting a Bus from Faro Airport to Lagos

In contrast to the train, the bus from the airport is direct, meaning you won’t have to catch any connections, making it slightly more efficient, albeit slower. The bus is provided by Vamus Algarve, and can be found just outside the airport at the bus stop. The bus to catch is the number 56 Aerobus toward Lagos (Terminal Rodoviario).

In total, the trip will take 2 hours, and has 4 stops in total along the way. Tickets for the bus are slightly more expensive, costing €15.00 in total. Due to a malfunction on the website of the bus provider, it is recommended to buy your ticket directly from the driver.

In total, the airport is located only 63 kilometres away from the airport, as the crow flies. When travelling by road, the distance increases to around 91 kilometres.
