Getting from EWR to JFK by train

Taking the train might not be the most comfortable way to reach JFK airport from EWR.

From EWR, take Airtrain to NJ Transit train station and transfer to Newark Liberty Airport Station. You can find the tram in Terminal B and the ride will be around 6 minutes. The tram comes every 5 minutes and the tickets cost 8 dollars.

Then from Newark Airport Railroad Station, you will take Northeast Corridor to New York Penn Station which will take around 28 minutes. The train comes every 30 minutes and the ticket costs around 17 dollars.

Later from New York Penn Station, you will take the train that runs every 15 minutes. The ride takes around 21 minutes and the ticket costs 13 dollars.

Finally, you will get off at station Jamaica and you will take the train from Jamaican Station- Station D. The tram runs every 5 minutes and the ride lasts around 10 minutes. The ticket cost around 8 dollars.

Taking this route you will get to Terminal 4 of JFK airport.

How to get from EWR to JFK by bus?

You also have the option of taking the bus to reach JFK airport from Newark airport. Keep in mind that you need to change two buses to reach your destination. Between Newark Liberty International Airport and New York City, there is an express bus. 365 days a year, the Express Bus operates from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m.

The bus is in Terminal C, on level 1, outside bus stop 5 and 6. You have to get off at the bus stop ‘Port Authority Bus Terminal 41st Street between 8th and 9th Avenues’.

Then, you will get to a different bus, from the Newark Airport Express bus to the NYC Airporter Bus.

On the website, both bus tickets are offered for a flat rate of $27. The NYC Airporter runs from 5 am to 11:30 pm. The Newark Airport Express runs from 4 am to 1 am. The ride in total will be around 1 hour and 38 minutes.
