Getting a Bus from Larnaca to Protaras
If you are a budget-conscious traveller, then a Protaras to Larnaca Airport bus will be your best option. It remains the only public transportation option between the two locations and costs only a few euros. There are no direct bus routes from Larnaca Airport to Protaras, thus you will need to combine a total of 3 bus trips to reach your destination. Follow the below guide for the most efficient bus trip.
If you have just arrived at Larnaca Airport, or are planning to fly in soon, then planning your trip to Protaras in advance is definitely a wise move. From the airport, you will first need to take a bus to the Finikoudes bus stop, from where you can catch your connecting bus all the way to Ayia Napa. This first bus ticket will cost €1.50, which can be paid to the driver.
When you arrive at Finikoudes bus stop, locate the green Intercity bus with a sign post stating it is going to Ayia Napa and Paralimni. The cost of the ticket for this bus is €4.00, which can only be paid for with cash. The bus ride will take around 45 minutes, and you will need to disembark the bus at the Ayia Napa Waterpark bus stop, from where you can catch your next bus, the 101 to Paralimni.
The bus to Paralimni goes through Protaras, and you can disembark at the main square in town. The bus costs €1.50, with tickets being bought from the driver. This bus will take you through the main town in Ayia Napa, before a coastal ride towards Protaras. Depending on where you are staying in town you can decide which stop is most appropriate for you.
