Is There a Train from Helsinki Airport to Espoo?

There is indeed a train that connects the airport with Espoo, although not directly, you only need to make one change to get to your final destination. At just €4.10 for a single-ride ticket, the train is an affordable and mostly convenient option.

From the airport, locate the train station by following the many signposts. When there, check the departure board for the I or P  trains, both of which will take you to the Psaila station in Helsinki. Most of these trains run every 10 minutes, meaning that you are almost guaranteed to be able to just jump on one when arriving at the station.

After taking the train to Helsinki, disembark and locate your next train to Espoo. The U or E train toward Kirkkonummi can drop you off at Espoo in just 20 minutes.

Getting a Bus from Helsinki Airport to Espoo

Taking the bus alone is not possible, thus combining a train and bus ride will be necessary. In total this journey will cost slightly less than the train alone, at €3.10.

From the airport, head to the train station and catch the I train to Myyrmaki, which should take around 16 minutes. Once there, locate the 530 bus, toward Matinkyla and ride it to Gloms, which shall take around 30 minutes, depending on traffic.

Gloms is located on the northern cusp of Espoo, thus getting to your final destination in the city shouldn’t take very long.

As the crow flyeth, there is a total distance of 16 kilometres between the two cities. By car, this distance increases to around 20 to 25 kilometres, for a total transit time of 20 minutes.
