Getting from Oxford to London by Train?
There are frequent train departures between the locations daily, making it a very efficient way to travel. From Heathrow’s Terminal 5 rail station, platform 4 & 3, one can catch a train with either 1 or 2 changes, and get to Oxford in just over an hour. Trains with 2 changes will cost £28.30, whereas single-change trips cost £51.90.
To get to the train station in Heathrow Terminal 5, you can follow the conveniently placed signs found throughout the terminal. After disembarking from your flight, you will need to pass through security first, then head through Baggage Claim, then finally onto the train station. To get between these steps, you will need to take the transit system within the Airport.
Take the HeathrowExpress train Elizabeth Line, to the Hayes & Harlington station. From there, take the train towards Slough, and finally from Slough take the train directly to Oxford. Alternatively, for the slightly more expensive route, you can take the first train to London Paddington, and from there take a direct train to Oxford. The choice is yours.
Travel Tip: Booking your trip in advance is strongly recommended, as this will guarantee the cheapest tickets in the UK. Booking on the day will cost the amount indicated above, whereas earlier can cost as cheap as just £5.50.
