What to Do in Portugal?
Holiday Transfers in Portugal
The country has a number of popular holiday destinations, from cities to beachside resorts. The choice of hotels is abundant and finding fun activities for the whole family is almost guaranteed. By booking a Portugal Airport Transfer, you can also get a local to provide you with some valuable inside information, from the best restaurants, to little known places. Don’t be shy, just ask.
Looking for Some Local Events
Depending on the time of year to decide to visit, you can almost always be guaranteed to see some form of local event or festival. As is only natural, larger cities will be more likely to have a lot of events, whereas small towns will have more cultural, smaller events, celebrating Portuguese history. In brief, some of the most popular events are Carnival (from February to March), the Sintra Festival (in June and July), which is a cultural event featuring music and dancers; and the Festival of Sardines on the 12th of June, which we imagine doesn’t need much of a description.
Try some Portuguese Food!
A very popular food for the locals is Bacalhau (or dried cod), which has many different ways to be prepared. Aside from that, there are many other different stews made with fish, such as caldeirada, which is tomato-based. Meat dishes usually consist of beef, pork, chicken, goat, lamb or duck, which makes them relatively standard for a western palette. In the North of the country, a popular dish is Dobrada, which is tripe with white beans and carrots (yum). To wash all that down, you also have some of the world’s finest wines, such as Port and Madeira wine.
